What is your favorite thing about your job: I get along with everybody. 

What would you like people to know about you:  That I am very kind and easy to get along with.

Rudy exemplifies the values that Kirby stands for integrity, patience, kindness and community. He is never self-serving and can always be counted on to go above and beyond to provide the best care for our residents. He treats everyone like family and has never meet a stranger. My department and Kirby are proud to have Rudy on our team.

Describe your family: Wife Sheri, kids Ben & Betsy, grandchildren Sophie, Huxley, Harrison & Miles.  

Describe yourself in five words: Loving, funny, inquisitive, passionate, dependable.

What do you do for fun: Follow my grandchildren, listen to music, watch documentaries, workout. 

Do you have any hobbies or interests: Researching my genealogy and writing.

What is your favorite food: Tacos.  Favorite song: Rhapsody In Blue by George Gershwin. 

What is your favorite thing about your job: Talking to the residents. I never knew my grandparents, so they are the next best thing. 

What is something you are proud of:  Helping raise exceptional children who are loving, helpful and good friends to their friends. 

What would you like people to know about you:  During my 35 years producing television programs and custom videos, I have traveled to every state except North Dakota and Alaska.

Donald has been taking on the added duties and responsibilities of Transportation Supervisor since the position has been vacant. He is very friendly and always has a good attitude. Don has been making the schedules, assisting with the delivery of packages to residents and taking care of the transportation needs for residents and employees. We are proud to have him.

What do you do for fun: Enjoy family, watch movies, play games. 

Do you have a pet: A Pomeranian named Pee-Wee.

What is your favorite thing about your job: Knowing that I provide and care for residents and put a smile on their faces. 

What is something you are proud of:  Thankful and blessed at the person I’ve become and that I am able to help others. 

What would you like people to know about you:  I am a hardworking, responsible person and I put my trust in the Lord.

Friendly, caring, team player, a support to new employees, always going the extra mile …… these are just a few words that describe Colesha Cross and why she deserves to be Employee of the Month. As a long-time employee at Kirby Pines, and as a mentor to new employees, Colesha assists in training orientees based on a team-approach, and always doing what’s best for the resident, other employees, and guests within the facility. No task is too large or small for Colesha to handle. She seeks out the appropriate support to get the job done and completes each function in an excellent manner. We are extremely proud of Colesha and all that she does for Kirby Pines and our residents.

What do you do for fun: Being with family having game and paint night.

Do you have a pet: A German Shepherd named Zeus.

What is your favorite food: Crab Legs. Favorite song: Leave the Door Open by Bruno Mars. 

What is your favorite thing about your job: Having a relationship with my residents and knowing they trust in me. 

What is something you are proud of:  God’s blessing with the gift to reach people that are lacking love. 

What would you like people to know about you:  I have faith in God to guide me to be happy and to care and be mindful of others. 

Pat treats our residents as if they are her own family. She is always finding new ways to keep them engaged. She pays attention as well. If she notices any change in their behavior or in the physical well-being, she notifies a manager right away. Pat is also a team player and will assist in any area needed with a smile on her face.

What is your favorite thing about your job: Getting to laugh and joke with residents and my coworkers. 

What is something you are proud of:  I have come a long way with my attitude and have learned to relax more and enjoy life. 

What would you like people to know about you:  I’m hardworking, dedicated, easy to get a long with and silly. 

Ms. Jones is the very embodiment of what Kirby Pines represents. She is always first to make sure our Residents are taken care of, first to make sure teammates are lifted up and given credit where credit is due, and first to help pitch in and get tasks done when opportunities may arise.

Describe your family: Six kids and a wife who has gone to live with the Lord.

What would you like people to know about you: I’m a proud American.

Mr. Alan does not know the word “No”. He has repeatedly changed his schedule to cover for others and goes above and beyond on a daily basis to ensure our residents have what they need. When covering in The Bistro, a resident asked for chicken salad, Alan made it special, and now makes it once a week, knowing that resident will be in to order it. Mr. Hill shows that a positive attitude and willingness to help can go a long way and we appreciate everything he does.

What is your favorite food: Pinto beans.

Describe your family: One daughter, three sons, seven grandchildren and we are all nuts about each other.

What would you like people to know about you: I am very approachable, humble, respectful and down to earth.

After 13 years of employment, Barry Rossell’s response to tasks asked of him is, “We just got to get it done”. Mr. Rossell is flexible, dependable and a team player. He performs his tasks with a positive attitude. He is willing to help out in any area on Kirby’s campus. Family members and residents request him frequently and comment on how kind he is. We are proud that he is part of the Kirby team.

Describe Your Family: I am a mother of four, grandmother of 10 and great-grandmother of five.

Describe yourself in five words: Friendly, helpful, funny, compassionate, spiritual.

What is something you are proud of: To have worked at Kirby Pines for 14 years.

Do you have any hobbies or interests: Reading, listening to gospel music, gardening, and collecting angels.

What is your favorite thing about your job: The gratitude of our residents, telling me they love me and bringing smiles to their faces.

What is your favorite food: Catfish.

What would you like people to know about you: That I pray for us all each and every day and I try to help anyone I can.

Crystal Shoemaker always goes above and beyond to make sure things flow smoothly on the unit. She is a team player and is very observant of the residents and immediately notifies the charge nurse if any change is noticed. She is flexible and willing to go to any area she is needed. Crystal is happy to take on a special project to enhance the quality of care she gives her residents. We are so glad to have her as part of our team.

Rudy Selmon goes above and beyond the call of duty to support the department as well as our residents. He is thoughtful, precise and always a team player. He understands the importance of what we do for the residents of Kirby Pines. He is always willing to help another shift when staff is short and is happy to train or assist others as needed.

What is your favorite thing about your job: I love all of the residents. Victoria and Tania are the best managers ever.

Jeremy Richardson is dedicated to Kirby residents by providing exceptional service with a positive attitude. He arrives with a smile on his face every day. He has always made himself available to work additional shifts during this pandemic. Jeremy’s commitment to Caring in Place is unwavering. We are fortunate to have him on our team!
