Therapies at Kirby Pines

To reach your goals, begin at the beginning.

Therapies and Services

No matter the goal or need, our approach to rehabilitation therapy at Kirby Pines begins at admission.

We begin with a thorough intake process to determine how much and which types of therapy are needed. After the admitting physician signs off, treatment begins and the plan is evaluated throughout the healing process, with adjustments made if needed. Periodic conferences are held with you and your family to discuss progress, review clinical records, and address any questions or concerns. Updates and information are also forwarded directly to your physician before you return for follow-up care.

We’re ready to help you achieve your goals and get back to life as you’ve known it.

Cardiopulmonary Rehab

From sudden distress to chronic conditions, we’ll develop a plan that is unique to you.

Whether recovering from heart failure, coronary heart disease or major heart surgery, a variety of programs are used to assist in recovery and help develop healthier habits and behaviors, while improving quality of life.

Pulmonary rehab is a restorative program that helps manage the symptoms of chronic respiratory disease. Our skilled staff provides services that help improve lung function as well as teach techniques to help cope with difficulty breathing.

Stroke Rehab

No one is ready for a stroke.

A stroke occurs suddenly, without warning, and can impact cognition, communication, mobility, swallowing, and activities of daily living. Upon joining the program, we conduct a full evaluation of stroke damage and a plan is developed to address your specific needs such as restoring muscle strength, flexibility, joint stability, and cognitive ability to get you back into a daily routine. Our team also devotes time to educating family members in the many ways they can assist throughout treatment, effectively building a support system for stroke recovery.

Orthopedic Rehab

Achieving the benefits you expect from your surgery.

Our orthopedic program is designed to treat the particular needs of those who have had surgery for knee replacement, hip replacement or total joint replacements, as well as broken bones and other joint and bone problems. Guided by a personalized care plan and using modern equipment and techniques, you will experience a comfortable recovery. Our professional medical team takes great care to evaluate short- and long-term goals for rehabilitation, creating a treatment strategy to fit individual needs, occupations, and lifestyles.
